Which is about a 7 hour drive from Boise.
We made our way first to Pendleton, Oregon. Pendleton is rich in heritage & had its beginning in the early 1860's. True West Magazine named Pendleton as the Top 10 Western Town in the country for 2011! Best known for their legendary rodeo, fine woolens and leather craftsmanship, Pendleton has a well-deserved reputation as a town where the best of western tradition and heritage lives on.
Their historical downtown holds a farmer's market on Friday nights that we really enjoyed!
We spent the night at the wonderful Pendleton Bed & Breakfast!
The next day we continued our trek to Leavenworth with a stop in Toppenish, Washington.
They have a downtown that houses 70 outdoor, historical murals. They tell the story of early development of the City of Toppenish, and its rich history and cultural diversity.
Arrival to Leavenworth! Yippee!! This is one of my newest favorite places and I hope to return one day!
Leavenworth is a beautiful Bavarian village themed city! It sits at an elevation of 1,200 feet, with nearby mountains towering above up to 8,000 feet.
We rented a excellent condo that was a few steps from downtown (the yellow building in the pic below).
It is really a very beautiful and fun place to go!
Delicious Bavarian food!
Fun shops.....yea...we are weird!!
And sharing it all with your best friend!
